The period we live in has witnessed great turbulence to the liberal international order established after the second world war. Up to this day, no country, developing or developed, has achieved complete sustainability or a response action plan for a crisis. The Security Council (UNSC) is in charge of maintaining international peace and security, decision-making for changes to the UN Charter and approving Global peacekeeping operations. As diplomats, this is bound to test your intelligence and your tactics for the International arena. This is where our wisdom and creativity coalesce; this is the Security Council- Continuous Crisis Committee.

We are continuously reminded of the ways that people all over the world are vulnerable to infectious diseases, known and unknown. Will history continue to repeat itself? The answer must be yes and that is why current epidemic response resources are key to understanding how to respond to pandemics. The WHO is a specialized agency of the UN and works with other specialized UN agencies through the coordination of the Economic and Social Council of the UN. Currently it maintains an emergency response framework that is guided by various principles including country focus, partnership, accountability, gender, age, and vulnerability sensitivity.

Press Corps

"Journalism can never be silent; that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault" - Henry Grunwald

“The fourth pillar of democracy”, alongside the centuries-long trifecta of the Judiciary, Executive, and Legislature. Journalism is much more than a planate theory. Under the folds of pages and between the smudges of ink lie the truths of the world and the rudiments of history. Such is the function of the Press Corps; to serve as a vessel of information to the laymen and live vicariously through the art of writing. The Press Corps are the voice of and for the people. As representatives of international news agencies, you not only hold power to report, interpret and share but also carry the baton of accountability for every other delegate. As journalists, you are committing to the integrity of your intellect, and it is up to you to segregate substance from sensationalism. Keep in mind that while the press must be brave and free, we abide by the truth and nothing but. Journalists, choose your words wisely and do not let the fourth pillar of democracy crumble under your reign.
